Spring Fall Azores Packages

Quick, name the place in Europe that is just four hours away, has palm trees and bananas, and is affordable and fun? The mild Atlantic breezes of the volcanic Azores Islands are a real deal this spring, as Azores Express, announces its Spring Azores Explorer¹ Packages with air/hotel starting at just $849 per person roundtrip air to the Azores. This includes six nights lodging, and feature 12 hotels on the islands of São Miguel, Terceira, and Faial. Packages are valid from March 1 to June 15th. The Azores Islands are Europe¹s closest point to the United States. A 4-hour flight from Boston will transport travelers to this beautiful destination for an affordable price.
 
Direct flights from Boston to Portugal¹s Azores Islands depart Tuesdays and Fridays through June 2008. For Tuesday departures, packages range from $999 to $1,299, per person, double occupancy (plus taxes and fees). That represents a savings of almost 50%. Friday departures are just $80 more. For just a few hundred dollars each way, passengers can upgrade from coach to SATA Comfort Business-Class. All packages include breakfast. Kids under 6 stay free, and pay only a child¹s airfare.

    The National Geographic Center for Sustainable Destinations has named the Azores islands as the world¹s second most appealing islands destination in it fourth annual Destination Scorecard survey. A panel of 522 experts aided by George Washington University reviewed conditions on 111 islands and archipelagos. The Azores were outscored only by Faroe islands, and received the title of ³Authentic, unspoiled, and likely to remain so.² To celebrate, Azores Express has rolled out a program to enjoy what got the Azores at the top of this list with a new kind of package, featuring bed and breakfasts, small country inns, and historic manor houses.

     
    The new Azores country inn package offers six unique properties to choose from on four islands. Azores Express is offering round-trip air from Boston, and six nights lodging with breakfast starting at just $979 per person.
    Price is for travel from Boston direct to the Azores (with inter-island air include where applicable). The flying time is just four hours. Taxes are not included in the price. Rooms, as these are inns and B&B¹s, range from rooms to individual houses. Breakfast is included. Friday departures are available, for an additional $80 per person.     Portugal¹s capital, Lisbon, is a city with 2 million people and more than 2,500 years of history. Now, Azores Express is offering week-long packages from Boston to explore one of the most exciting cities in Europe. Starting at just $1299, plus tax, for roundtrip airfare from Boston, and six nights lodging.
     
    Flights from Boston to Lisbon via the Azores Islands depart Tuesdays and Fridays now through mid-June 2008, combined with six-night stays at a choice of two hotels. For Tuesday departures, packages are $1299 per person, double occupancy (plus tax). Friday departures are just $80 more. All packages include daily breakfast. Choose a package that combines a stay in São Miguel in the Azores for the same price. Children under 6 pay only child¹s airfare.
    Children under 10 pay just 10% of the hotel rate, plus airfare.
     
    One of the featured hotels is Lisbon¹s historic Hotel Mundial ,right in the heart of the city¹s center. The Mundial, recently restored, was famed as a center of espionage during World War II. The other hotel is the new Hotel Azores Lisboa, a modern 4-star hotel in the city¹s business and shopping district.
